was held June 8-11 in Orlando, FL. The event's timely theme,
"Learning...To Do It Right," emphasized the value of
training to a higher standard of ethics,

Perim
Consulting began its affiliation with the C.L.A.S.S.
(Corporate Leaders Advocating Student Success)
program, a partnership between the entities noted
above (AVID: Advancement Via Individual
Determination—a program to ensure that all students,
and most especially the least-served students in the
middle capable of completing a college preparatory
path. 95%
of AVID students reported enrolling in college—this
is a rate that is three times higher than the
California
state average (CREATE, 1998)).

Conference (Linkage, Inc.)
“Ensuring
Development is Applied: A Matrix for Selecting
Learning Options”:
Perim
Consulting presented a case study with a major
pharmaceutical company client from their sales
division in which a matrix was created to most
appropriately match the variety of learning options
available (classroom, e-learning,
video/teleconferencing, self-directed study, etc.)
with desired learning outcomes.

Company I Can Believe In”: Lynn Scott presented at NHRA’s national conference, The Changing
Face of HR.
Lynn
challenged audience members to consider their own
workplaces while she expanded upon the idea of
“engaged” employees, and what HR
professionals--and their management teams—can do to
foster high-performing work environments.

The
International Personnel Management Association invited
Brian Lange to address attendees during their Western
Regional Conference.
" Shared Sense of Purpose:
A Common Denominator of High-Performing
Organizations" focused on the essential role
that managers and supervisors have upon the work
environment perceptions of employees, as well as the
critical role of a widely understood and appreciated
culture. The
presentation helped build a case for creating
organizational consistency (management
practices/expectations, etc.) to raise performance and
positively impact recruitment and retention of
high-performing contributors.
International Association of
Administrative Professionals (IAAP)
“Resolving
Workplace Issues & Conflicts”: Lynn Scott addressed the IAAP and explored the
distressing fact that many workplace conflicts go
unresolved, and therefore much dissatisfaction and
unrealized potential exists at work.
This session investigated some of the common
causes for why people tend to avoid addressing
conflicts, and shared some strategies for being more
proactive—and confident—in raising issues with
others.

Brian
Lange joined
San Diego
County
’s top experts in workforce development issues in
addressing community leaders during the Executive
Luncheon announcing 8 at Work, the partnership
between KFMB Local Channel 8 TV and
San Diego
's Workforce Partnership. The event, sponsored by the
San Diego chapter of the American Marketing
Association, helped participants plan for possible
short-term employment downturns, as well as long-term
strategies to attract and retain talented employees.
